Can we get to know Mr. Gül and Group Medical more closely?
I completed my primary, middle and high school education in Trabzon. I graduated from Başkent University department of biomedical engineering. It was impossible for me not to start in this sector as my family is in the medical community and because of the department I chose also. After graduation, I established MEDTİM Group Medical Company with the support of KOSGEB in 2011.
Our firm possesses the attribute of being first in Turkey in the field of producing wound cleaning device with focused Led technology which helps operation parts to be observed easier. In addition to our LedLavage product used in wound care and orthopedy, surgical implants used in veterinary clinics are also available in a wide range of products. We offer packaging, assembly, sterilization services as well.
What is the starting story of MEDTİM ?
My parents were civil servants but somehow I always wanted to trade. Because of my department I studied, I felt like I had to produce a product. Then, I joined orthopedic surgeries and began to examine imported products. At the same time, I had lots of friends with whom I always exchanged opinions in this field. I decided to produce these products which I believe they really would help the sector through getting my friends’ support and establishing MEDTİM Group Medical.
What does quality and satisfaction mean to you?
The aim of our company is to be a leader in quality while producing and selling the products in the health sector. We do this by improving the system in accordance with the quality management requirements. Beside of working environment and its conditions, we do this with employees’ self-devotion and their environmental awareness. In order to meet the needs and expectations of customers in the best way, we improve our product choices without decreasing the quality and we care about improving satisfaction of the customers by adding new values to every work we do. In this context, MEDTİM Group; has supported its high sense of quality with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016, all products under the company’s roof have CE certificate.
Can you tell us about your product range?
Our company is the owner of pressure wound cleaning device, ledlayage brand, which is mostly used in orthopedic surgeries. Besides, we have started to supply implants used in veterinary surgeries because of our love to animals.
You are not alone in the sector for sure. What are the main points that take you one step away from equivalent companies?
One of the most important differences from our opponents is to observe every step of production from supplying stock to assembly, packaging, sterilization and distribution. Always keeping high standards, ensuring that our production process is always backed up with the latest technological advancements, keeping close track of our personnel’s contentment together with how they fair under their job roles, making sure that they are always developing their skills and most importantly by taking care of our team and team welfare, we form a bond where by global standards for the medical sector are always kept to.
What are your future goals in the market of Turkey?
Contributing to the economy of our country by increasing local production in the health sector and medical industry, reducing foreign dependency, always reaching to a better point by means of our company which is open for innovation, constantly improving satisfaction of the costumers.
If we want to mention about the problems in the sector, which ones would you like to talk about here?
As everyone knows, there are serious problems in medical sector. Foremost among these is that universities and state hospitals fulfill their payment terms in a very long time. As a result of this, local companies like us cannot stand economic crises. Another challenge is VAT percentages whilst buying stock. %18 VAT is applied to purchased stock and %8 VAT is applied to product sales. I think these problems should be solved by the authorities as soon as possible.
